,,} He is a thinker of sorts. No matter what the situation is or what it calls for, Bastogne will think of multiple solutions before he makes even one step or move. His thought process takes time. Sometimes it may take a few seconds, a hour, or in dire cases days, weeks, and even months. There is only one subject that has held his mind entangled in thoughts for a few years, but it is not major enough to be known by every equine in the realm.
,,} The cold climate suits him the best. He loathes the heat and would prefer to find a climate that is cold all year round. He prefers the winter as the emptiness causes him to think even more. It forces him to fight depressing thoughts with stronger, lighter ones. It is amazing that a dark steed can think of neutral or even happy thoughts, but his thinker persona allows for it. Happy thoughts do not occure frequently, as neutral and darker thoughts are more commonplace.
,,} Family is not in his vocabulary. True, the stallion has is own personal needs, but he does not allow for them to run his life. The one thing that prevents him from doing dirty deeds is the thought of a family. He has no intention of starting or rearing a family at this point. He could care less for the thought. He can take care of his self and is bothered by the thought of taking care of others. If others can not take care of their selves, why should he?
,,} Toughness is relative. When he needs to battle, he will, but he refuses to fight over trivial things. He does not like others who attempt to control his actions, even when it comes to kings and queens. He will not move until he thinks through what he will do. In his mind, he must come to a consensus until he goes on.
History;;
Cursed in blood xx Bastogne was the result of a force breeding. His mother, an unintelligent, sex crazed mare, wandered into a force breeding area out of her own will. Of course, a dark stallion came into the territory, ready to steal the flower of any mare he first spotted. Well, he spotted the mare, same breed as himself. Now, Bastogne's mother became frightened by the stallion. He was crazed, troubled, and certainly a stallion with poor genetics. She had told the stallion she wished to be bred, but with a stallion who was not so screwed up in the mind. What she did not know would come back to haunt her later.
The deed was complete xx Almost one year later, a scraggly colt was born. The sire came to his birth, proud of what he saw. He claimed he would sculpt the colt into something vile. The mare just looked blankly at the steed before her. He was an evil genius. He could make any first impression and the first impression he gave to her was insanity. The mare instantly fell for the steed. Of course, he wanted to have nothing to do with her. However, she bore him a strong looking colt, so he figured he would keep her around for a bit. But, the gods would need to help her if she bore anything less than a champion. Or, if she bore anything less than a soldier.
Trained but ran away xx Bastogne went with his sire when he was six months. By then, the sire had a special territory on the western side of his lands to train his offspring. He began teaching Bastogne how to battle with his second son, Yuma. Yuma and Bastogne were half brothers, and Yuma turned out to be much weaker than Bastogne. The sire wanted his spawn to be intelligent fighters, not just bold warriors. Yuma happened to be the latter. As Bastogne would accurately predict his half brother's moves, Yuma would simply attack with full force. After a year of this training, Bastogne became bored. He did not wish to be trained by his father anymore, and he did not wish to have his half brother hate him any more than he did. Thus, Bastogne ran away.
As it is said...the rest is history...
