"You say I am the wisest equine, but if I was wise, I would choose not to be wise for wisdome comes at a steep price that I pay with my lonlinesss." -Katastrophe, losing her will Embodiment Gender: female Age: seven Breed: dutch warmblood - andalusian Height: 16.3 - 17.0 Weight: 1656 Right Eye: deep hazel Left Eye: deep hazel Pelt: faded dapple grey Facial Marks: none Right Side: none Left Side: none Forelegs: none Hindlegs: none Herd: none -------Rank: loner Mate: none Offspring: noneDefinition ---------------Some say we are defined by the actions we take, and others disagree by saying what we were born from indicates our given path in this life. No matter what they say, both those ideas and actions are developed from one thing: character. Now Katastrophe's character has changed with her experiences. What was once a fireball paving her way proudly to hell has turned into a more docile creature who blends in with the scenery easily. This is how Katastrophe wants it to be though. All that fame that others seek out seems rather foolish to her. Even being immortalized through history seems ridiculous. And all the attention she has gotten through the years for being someone who blurs the lines of the alliances has made her quite the outcast. The constant wanting to move and continue onwards proves a hassel for any herd leader. It is not Katastrophe's fault that she feels that she must always be moving, exploring, and learning but the outcome of being shunned. Her views on the world are drastically different than the normal because of this. The mare skitters away from herds to seek out peace with the celestial heavens. When others would run from a murderer, Katastrophe would befriend him/her. These oddities intrigue her, but also become great allies because of her gift to weasel her way almost onto anyone's good side. Very few are enemies to this vixen, and even those who hate her have to give the mare credit for her skills of charming. Katastrophe herself isn't even fully aware of how powerful this gift is, or that she even has it. Despite her charming ways, her heart has yet to find someone. Many times she has tried to love, but they are all the same. Each stallion that she adored eventually became just a regular stallion. No one has yet made this feminine's heart skip a beat or even given her the simple comfort of knowing that she doesn't always have to be checking over her shoulder for the hardships of life. And so Katastrophe has given up almost all attempts to love. While she strongly believes in it, she herself feels that she was a soul created without a soul mate. This harsh reality makes this make reckless and fearless since she has nothing to lose. Her bold actions speak for themselves. She is one of those who will either be the last one standing, or the last one dead. The fighting spirit looms within her muscles and bones, pushing her forward. That driven determination can be deadly when backed with her fiery temper. Some say they have the worse temper, but when Katastrophe's patience runs out you'd better because all hell breaks loose. In a second she can snap and revert back to the nature of her mother's own primal nature. This pure rage has only been witnessed by equine, and I'm sorry say they couldn't warn you even they wanted to. This aspect of her personality has made her unpredictable to say the least. The part of her that fuels this is the not any fears but her own pride that she knows what is right. The proud lineage of her father's ancestors. No, it's not because she is of royal heritage (hell no, she's ashamed of her royalty) but because she is one of a handful of equines who walks through all the territories knowing she is the past of the equine race - a rogue. This pride has led to her being in a civil disagreement with many alliance bound equines. Some equines will even find themselves stunned by the words and sayings she says. Clearly her father's teachings are strongly bound in her mind. You could say she is intelligent, even as equine standards go; but like most she also has a part of her that is far more radical than her. The fear of being alone that makes most equines find a herd has been whipped clean out of her. As a result she is not afraid stand alone her own four hooves. If didn't see another equine for several years would be fine with her. As good as this might be, it also has it's downsides. Katastrophe has proven she is not afraid to die alone which makes her perfect for a suicidal mission. Her lack of a heart feeds into this. After all what does Katastrophe have to lose? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. There is a contrary force inside of the mare though that keeps her from doing these radical forces. This force is what drives her forward to search for something she does not know of. And so this force has led Katastrophe to these new lands, but how long will she stay here before she moves on once again...? Or is there something here that she longs for?
Masked : In the eyes of others, Kat is proud, calm, wise, and strong; but what others don't see is that how tired on the inside she is. Her straight, solemn face keeps others thinking she is alright. Sadly this is not how she feels. No matter how calm or patient Kat is on the outside, she is always in turmoil on the inside. The quietness of her being is mostly due to the fact she is trying to control her emotions - keep them in check. Yet when she is alone below the stars the true angst and tire face comes alive. Those wise, aging lines seem so much deeper and painful. Her strides her cut short by the scars and tearing of her bones. Pain seems to fill her body as she stands beneath the stars - consumed in these unfamiliar emotions. Yes, Kat can read equines well and name almost every emotion, but when it comes to herself she doesn't understand it. Her emotions are so strong, so painful that her energy is mostly spent on keeping them bottled. There was never a time when Kat would not keep her emotions in check. She just can't imagine not being in control of herself, and it is that fear that keeps Kat from unleashing those feelings. Occasionally there is a time where an equine might get a glimpse of the true, hurting Kat. Don't even try to pry her open though for Kat would never reveal this to anyone, even her closest friends. It's not in her personality to be emotional and spill her guts. This is why Kat keeps her face so solemn so that others won't see how tired she is of this life. When others sleep peacefully, Kat is haunted by the memories of her past. Consequently her eyes are always tired, a trait which she cannot mask. Kat's only redeeming quality is her wisdom, but even that comes from the beatings she has taken through life. But don't resent Kat for being solitary and secretive, it's how she's wanted it to always be: alone.
Regrets : I have no such regrets in my life except one that cost me dearly, and you out there shall know who you are. I shall always remember you as subtle equine with a raging riot just waiting to be unleashed. You stood beside me for less than two seasons, but you my friend made me wise, made me grow - made me regret never saying what I should have said. You were loyal to me, told me about the truths of Fenrir. You protected me without me even knowing. I still remember you though and those cold eyes that held no emotion my friend. I even remember seeing you smile like a colt in my presence, and me acting like a filly in return. Those were the good days, and shall always be the good days. And so now my dear friend whom gave me the nickname Kat, I hope you can forgive me for not saying goodbye. I never meant for it to end that way. No, I wanted it to end a different way; one that maybe you would approve of. Until we meet again my dear Starscream, whom I call Riot, take care for I shall always say a pray for your wandering soul - the soul that touched me deeper than any equine before you. History -----------"It didn’t come as a shock to him that she did not dote over the subtle compliment he had dropped her, she was better than that and he could tell just from the minutes he had walked at her side. She had a twisted tale to tell but he didn’t care to hear her sob story, though he figured she wouldn’t tell it even if he did care to ask, he liked that. She was respectful, though she wasn’t heaven sent, there are sins in her gaze that she will never shake, but she isn’t a self proclaimed demon either. "
-Starscream, upon first meeting Katastrophe
-----------The story does not begin with Katastrophe's birth but with how she was conceived. The mother, Zallarei, was the mare of exile. This feminine had earned her rank and took beating after beating; she was a survivor. To the surprise of many, she fell in love with a beast that could not love her, Ladan - the lord of exiles. Zallarei thought that she could change this heartless beast because he respected her, treated her as an equal. This ignorance led to her falling more for him. The kind gestures he gave to Zallarei were just because he knew she would come in handy some day when they retook what should have been theirs from the beginning. And watching this tragedy was the Phantom, or king of the land. He too saw something special within this feminine. While no Phantom took a true queen, they seek out one mare to carry their one and only offspring; Zallarei was that chosen one. The Phantom did not wait to carry out his deed. In the dead of night he revealed himself to her, telling her what she would do. Zallarei refused flat out, promising him that the only child she would carry would be that of Ladan's. They both suffered a few marks when Zallarei struck out at him, but the pure blood of a Phantom overpowered her. Just as soon as the deed was done he slipped away as if he never existed. Furious she stormed back to the Ladan's herd, taking her place among the higher ranked equines. That night instead of sleeping, she found the lord of exiles in her courters. The calm face of him instantly made her shudder back, stumbling over loose rocks. The calm face was only reserved for those whom had angered him. The scent of the Phantom still clung to her strongly, only feeding into the rage of the lord. Ladan approached her cooly before whispering into her ear that she had betrayed him and the causes she stood for. He screamed in her ears, telling her how disgusted he was to see her returning back here. Ladan had thought she would have been smart enough to stay away after being with another male. The stallion stripped Zallarei of her rank, telling her she was his slave. Ladan forced her, telling her the entire time that she would carry his child, and that when the child was of age her own offspring would destroy her. The next morning Zallarei fled from the exile lands, and from all lands belonging to Oceanta.
-----------Nearly a year later, the mare found salvation with a little herd struggling to survive. This place was land of beauty but also turmoil. The Winding Winds Herd was in conflict with Hells Horizon Herd which had left many injured, and a few dead. Still they welcomed this feminine into their family with open arms, unaware of how corrupted Zallarei's mind had become. It less than month later that Zalla traveled to the outskirts of the land (at dawn) to get rid of this bulk that threatened to pop her wide open if it didn't stop growing inside of her. By late afternoon the pains still had yet to cease. It seemed as if god was punishing her by this strange form of torture; and then she thought she might die the pains ceased. Pushing back the mother instincts she rose. Dripping with sweat she looked over at the tiny creature. Suspended on tall legs, the young filly seemed to be catching on quickly to this life. The young being stumbled forward towards the motherly figure with wide eyes only to feel something she never had felt before. Pain seared through her body as she collapsed tot he ground. A red liquid dripped down her body from a laceration on the right side of her neck. Watching her mother call her every name in the book, she took on one name, and one name alone: Katastrophe. Zallarei's rage came from the fact that this poor filly resembled Ladan with her deep hazel eyes. Even as her mother left her for the predators, the filly put away her pain knowing that the creature who who could kill her could also save. Stumbling far behind Zallarei, she found herself on the herd's lands. Many of the equines of the herd took pity on such a filly, and they threatened to chase her away if she did not feed the filly. Stubbornly Zalla obeyed, but just enough. As soon as the filly was weaned, she left on her. Katastrophe, still young, thought it was her fault that Zallarei had left and took the toll hard. Despite her issues with trusting equines, young Katastrophe found place in her heart for a young mare named Rebel Rose. Rebel Rose became this filly's mentor and motherly figure. Katastrophe's time with the Winding Winds Herd would be shorten by a fire that blazed across the plains. In that fire she found one white stallion that led her to safety, her sire.
-----------Katastrophe's journey to Oceanta revealed she was the first feminine to be a Phantom in the long history of these lands. Following in her ancestor's prints she learned to fight and survive on her own. Katastrophe's vow never to reveal herself except to the stallion she chose was broken. In the early days she found freedom with an older colt name Jupe. They ran and raced across the plains for endless hours. The first equine she liked more than a friend was soon lying dead on the ground thanks to her sire. The Phantom had been furious, and in an attempt to keep their presence unknown one equine would have to die. With Jupe gone, Katastrophe's relationship with her sire was on the edge. These traditions seemed stupid and strict to her. Impatience and rage grew within her heart as she tried to earn her freedom. Many times she ran away to the exile lands. On one of those trips she encountered one of her greatest enemies: Fatel, heiress to Ladan's lands. It did not take long for them to clash. The battle ended with Katastrophe as the victor, but Fatel swears by her father's grave that she shall kill Sophie and all of those who hold the old ways of no alliances. Both of them came off with new scars, Katastrophe was the one to suffer the most. A viral infection set in her wounds, spreading through her body. This virus raged through her body for almost two months before she was finally able to conquer it. To this day she is a still a carrier for this deadly virus, making her a possible threat to plague. Soon after the ties between her and her father finally broke. The infamous temper unleashed upon her father as she stood her ground against him. This time Katastrophe won her freedom and also foretold the future of Oceanta. The line of the great Phantom's ended with her walking out of Oceanta with her held high in pride.
-----------Year three engulfed the young filly as she began to retrace her steps in hope of finding the Winding Winds Herd again, and to see Rebel Rose. During this trip proved to be one of the darkest hours of her life as she fought for survival. The feminine grace was replaced by the heavy steps of a fighter. Muscles began to harden under the many months of traveling. Time and Time again she was chased from Light lands since they had classified her as a darkling. She would tell them she couldn't help, but as Katastrophe traveled she found herself becoming even more separated from reality. When she stumbled upon the ruins of her birth lands, she collapsed. This place once filled with life was a graveyard. Death visited her once again, this time taking what little bit of family she knew away. Leaving the lands, Katastrophe feels regret - she never meant to be so cold. This tragedy was enough to make stop pitting herself. And so the third year came to close as she resumed her travels.
-----------It was not long before Katastrophe came upon the nearby lands of darks. Holding herself with confidence, she walked into the lands finding herself as a mare of a proud and disgusted heritage. Comfort came in the form of a giant shire names Crys. He took her in as a mate since they both were outcasts, but just as soon they were separated by a new war but not unknown. Lights and Darks collided more and more, making Katastrophe flea once again to the islands to the west. Arrival on these lands was marked with silence and death. Once again she found friends in the most ominous and depressing places. Star Scream, an assassin, became one of the best friends she ever knew. It was easy enough to be with him. Katastrophe took him for granted when she became queen of neutrals on that island. There she ruled with Fenrir. During this time proved to be one of the most frustrating of her life. Being held to the neutrals made her feel trapped, imprisoned. Eventually this wore her down before Katastrophe held her ground and before the Neutral King declared that she was a rogue, and nothing but a rogue. At this point Katastrophe vowed never to be a high ranking equine whether it be of a band of equine or of an alliance. This led to her declaring proudly that she would never be a light, neutral, nor a dark. And so she left the neutral lands, glad that she had resumed her life once again as a rogue. Never again would she be labeled as a neutral. After this leave, she sought out Star Scream in hopes of finding him and returning to the darker lands. Her search was futile and ended with her leaving the small island of Apparition and coming to the small land mass that existed to the west.
-----------Katastrophe tried to search for a herd out of survival. Instead she found Diminition. It was a childish love that brought these two together. The pair traveled to the nearest herd in hopes of finding a new together. Their life together ended with Katastrophe's banishment from the herd because she could not control her urges to seek out the darker equines. The rogue habits that had become lodged in her mind were beginning to show their downsides. The conclusion to her fifth ended with her coming to Limitless Times, a rogue herd.
-----------The sixth year began with her being reunited with Diminition, new ruler of Limitless Times. Her joys were soon shattered with Diminition wanted her to be his queen. Instantly she revoked that right out of fear of what happened when she was queen last time. That feeling of being trapped was too painful for her ever to lead. This foreshadowing was overlooked as she tried to loved him as unconditionally as she did before. The pair even tried to conceive a foal (which failed), but it could not hide Katastrophe's flightiness. The alliance wars once again bloomed over the horizon as well as rogue herd became a neutral herd. Forcing herself out of these lands, katastrophe resumed traveling as a rogue alone. On this travel she contemplates whether or not she was ever meant to love, or if someone like that existed out there for her. It seemed like her rogue habits were too deeply imbedded in her mind for her to ever settle down into a herd, or possibly with an equine. The longing for her journey of life to come to an end dwelled on her every day. The thought of dying alone or being forgotten (which scared most) did not bother Katastrophe. No, she sorta wished that she could be forgotten. After all her life really hadn't accomplished anything that she felt proud; well, the fact she would never be a light, neutral, or dark was the only thing she was proud of. This year had much in store for this mare. The first conflict was when she met up with her dying mother. Watching her mother pass her by on her final legs made Katastrophe see how strong really was. Zallarei even d**ned Katastrophe for still living. The angry mother lunged out at her daughter, still believing Ladan's words that her child would destroy her; instead, Katastrophe took the hits and insults. Zallarei's final lung did not even scrap Katastrophe as she fell to the ground. The age mare lay on soaked grass and mud, glowering up at her daughter. Katastrophe said only one thing to her mother that night: Thank you mother for you made me strong. Turning around Kat left the mare to die alone. Her journey continued to the south into darker lands. What she thought would be a calmer part of her life turned into hell. Fatel had become queen of darks, and did not even hesitate to use her powers to torture Kat. The two met once again in an epic battle. Blood coated the grass and rocks. The small stream ran red with blood. Under a blood red moon the fight ended with the final screams of Fatel echoing across the lands. Fatel's dying words still haunt Katastrophe to this day.
-----------"You know," spoke Fatel in between breaths. "we really aren't so different, phantom." Pain seared through her face as she collapsed to the ground. Groaning loudly, she began to fight for every breath. Glowering up at the dapple vixen who had been a thorn in her side she murmured, "We're the same, but just different standards." Fatel couldn't even groan out her pain as her body began to go numb. The eyes glazed over in death, still looking at Katastrophe
-----------The rogue mare looked at the corpse before saying, "No, you have standards but I don't, Fatel. You go out of your way to make a name for yourself, and I go out of my way to be forgotten. You are a queen, and I am peasant. I just live my life. And you were afraid to die, but I am not afraid to die because I died long ago when I lost my home." It was the first time Katastrophe had said what she wanted to say to every equine that had ever labeled her. Turning around, Katastrophe ran till she could run no more.
-----------Now seven years old, Katastrophe has come to this new land not expecting much relief. But maybe, just maybe there is a place here for someone like Katastrophe - someone who is prime and young but feels as if they have lived a hundred years alone in silence.

-------------------------description hereSocialization My Medals : My body, like most equines, is littered with tiny scars from my long life. Of all my scars only one stands out - one that i've had since i took my first breath. conceal beneath my locks on the right side of my neck is the jagged, touch-leathering skin of my mark that defined me as a catastrophe. the pink marking goes from behind my lower jaw line to the top of my withers. this scar was given to me by my mother on my first day of this earth. this scar has made movement of my neck restricted, and numb on my right side. this scar was my introduction to the world of pain that i would endure.

My Unforgettables : (to qualify you must be someone from her past) --------------------------- those whom i shall always remember - - Zallarei : you made me strong mother. all that cruelty was worth it. you made me an outcast from society, leaving me to fend for my own. i thank you, and hope that you suffer the same afterlife as my father.
- The Phantom's Cesaer : you my father rescued me from death but brought me pain when you stripped me of my freedoms, forcing me to be something i wasn't. despite it, you made me grow and become the proud and wise rogue that i am today.
- Rebel Rose : you took me on as your own when i was a foal. even though i acted so cold towards you i do hope that you know how much i loved you as a sister. i hope you may rest in peace my sister.
- Magenta : how could i ever forget you my corky little mare? you made me laugh and grow during my time at the winding winds. you taught me to hold my tongue and think before i speak. you taught me to have hope and to love. you are like my grandmother, always there to support me.
- Fenrir : as much as i despise you, i give you thanks for teaching me why i'm not a neutral, or a royal (despite my heritage). you made me realize when i was queen briefly that i was too much of a rogue to ever lead a herd or stay in one spot. thank you for that year of hell.
- Fatel : you were my rival, pushing me farther. i despise your very image every time it comes into my head. you thought of yourself too proud and noble when you were nothing but a peasant. i hope you are enjoying your suffering.
- Starscream : where do i begin? you made me laugh during my solemn hours - made me think i was at home again. you were and are a magnificent stallion that i took for granted, and so i lost you. well i regret it and hope that you are alive and well. you my friend made me wiser; made me realize that darks aren't all dark after all if you can break their barriers. i love you and hope you can forgive me.
My Comrades : ( 1 / 5 ) ---------------------- these are the equines whom i would die for - - Ignautia : you are wiser than you know, and give me too much credit. you are the family that i lost long ago, and have brought much hope to my solemn heart. i will always stand beside you till my death, my friend; and then afterwards i shall watch you from the heavens with your parents, making sure you be alright until you join me in the afterlife. then the fun can begin. -smirks-
